Mesothelioma Occupations at Risk

Regardless of trade, age, sex or race, peope that are exposed to asbestos are at risk of cancer and other diseases. The list below shows occupations that are known to have a high risk of exposure to asbestos.

  • Insulators
  • Boilermakers
  • Shipfitters
  • Steel Workers
  • Maintenance Workers
  • Pipe Fitters
  • Brake Mechanics

The longer and more severe the contact with asbestos, the more likely the exposure will result in harm (although even small amounts of asebstos exposure can result in damage). Unfortunately, many family members of workers also suffered the ill effects of asbestos, sufferring from mesothelioma, lung cancer, and asbestosis as a result of asbestos dust carried home on clothing.
